On 26 April 2026, the Sri Sathya Sai Global Association of Malaysia (SSSGAM) Taman Yarl, in collaboration with Persatuan Skuad Kebajikan Seri Setia Selangor, successfully conducted a Health Screening and Community Wellness Programme. The medical camp received an overwhelming response from the public, attracting a record-breaking 518 participants.

To ensure a smooth experience, participants were registered via a hybrid manual and digital system before receiving a personalized screening checklist to guide them through the stations.

Initial Screenings and Medical Consultations

The programme commenced with height and weight assessments conducted by staff from Klinik Kesihatan Taman Medan. This was followed by vital sign screenings that included blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and uric acid level checks.

Participants then proceeded to the medical consultation section, which was led by eight medical doctors and supported by volunteers across five consultation areas:

  • Women’s Health Consultation: A dedicated counter managed by Dr. Sudha provided gynecological consultations with the aid of a portable ultrasound machine.

  • General Medical Consultation: The remaining stations handled general medical assessments and referrals based on individual health needs.

Specialised Screening Stations

  • Breast Screening: Led by Pn. Nazirah, this station screened 172 women and provided breast cancer awareness education. No significant clinical findings were detected.

  • Dental Screening: Led by Dr. Suziyana and supported by two dentists, this station successfully screened 282 participants while promoting proper oral hygiene practices.

  • Eye Screening: Led by Pn. Sofea and supported by two ophthalmologists, two optometrists and an eye health awareness team, this station screened approximately 290 participants. Due to overwhelming demand, registration for eye screening was closed early at 3.00 pm.

  • Cervical Cancer Screening: Women’s health services were further enhanced through a station led by Dr. Rohan, where 54 HPV DNA tests were conducted and awareness on cervical health was provided.

Wellness, Cancer Awareness and Support Services

  • Smoking Cessation: Led by Dr. Lina, a Family Medicine Specialist, this counter provided counselling and awareness to approximately 15 participants seeking support to quit smoking.

  • General Cancer Screening: Led by Ms. Fion and supported by ten staff members, this station offered smoke analyser tests, faecal occult blood tests (FOBT), PERKESO blood testing, Hepatitis B and C screening, special early cancer DNA screening and cancer awareness activities, benefiting approximately 311 participants.

  • Mental Health Awareness: A dedicated station engaged around 45 participants, highlighting the importance of maintaining good mental well-being.

Blood Donation Campaign

The blood donation campaign, led by Dr. Chang and a team of nine staff members, was conducted in a mobile donation bus. The campaign successfully collected 33 pints of blood from registered donors, contributing valuable resources to the local blood bank.

Overall, the programme achieved remarkable success through the dedicated efforts of healthcare professionals, volunteers and supporting agencies. It successfully delivered comprehensive health screening services, medical consultations, preventive healthcare education and community awareness initiatives to a record number of participants.

The exceptional turnout, strong community engagement and seamless collaboration among all stakeholders made this programme a resounding success and a significant contribution towards promoting health awareness and preventive healthcare within the community.
