Singapore - Human Values Drama Festival 2026 by SSSGC Singapore: Inspiring Young Hearts Through Theatre

Sri Sathya Sai Global Organisation Singapore (SSSGO Singapore) successfully organised the 2026 Human Values Drama Festival (HVDF) on 8 July at the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Campus at Sennett Road, bringing together students from four secondary schools to explore universal human values through the creative arts.

Revived after its previous edition in 2018, the festival featured original productions by St Gabriel’s Secondary School, Yishun Town Secondary School, Jurong Secondary School and Woodlands Secondary School.

Rooted in the five universal human values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence, the festival provided students with a platform to reflect on contemporary issues, express themselves creatively and develop empathy, confidence, teamwork and character.

Rather than teaching values through conventional lessons, SSSGC Singapore created an avenue for young people to discover and communicate these values through storytelling and theatre.

Each school brought a unique perspective to the stage.

St Gabriel’s Secondary School explored the value of Truth through a creative production combining Asian puppetry, Indian cinema and mythology, centred on a father teaching his son the importance of truth.

Yishun Town Secondary School explored Love through a moving story about a young girl struggling with feelings of neglect within her family. The production encouraged audiences to look beyond the incident and reflect on the importance of love, attention and understanding.

Jurong Secondary School, which emerged as the competition champion, addressed Non-violence and bullying. Through humour and relatable situations, the students highlighted the consequences of being a bystander and the importance of standing up against bullying.

Woodlands Secondary School explored Truth through contrasting parenting styles and their influence on a child's perception of reality.

More than a competition, HVDF 2026 was a celebration of young voices and the power of the creative arts to nurture human values.

Through the initiative, SSSGO Singapore continues its commitment to making human values education relevant, engaging and meaningful for young people, empowering them to reflect, create and grow into compassionate and responsible individuals.
