Malaysia, Sai Ram Nepal by SSSGC Malaysia
Guided by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's teachings of "Love All, Serve All", a delegation from Sri Sathya Sai Global Association Malaysia (SSSGAM) undertook a meaningful three-day visit to Nepal to extend love, solidarity and support to the Nepal Sai family and communities affected by the recent disaster.
Day 1 – Spiritual Fellowship and Welcome
The Malaysian delegation received a warm welcome from the Nepal Sai leadership upon arrival. The team subsequently visited Kathmandu Centre, participated in bhajans and conveyed a message of love and unity from Malaysia and Zone 5 through Bro Mahendran, the Zone Chairman.
The Nepal leadership briefed the delegation on the affected areas and ongoing relief efforts. The team also visited the centre's free medical consultation, dispensary and physiotherapy facilities, witnessing the organisation's remarkable commitment to community healthcare.
Day 2 – Witnessing Seva on the Ground
The delegation began the day with a visit to Nepal Sai School, which supports more than 300 students, before proceeding to the disaster-affected areas approximately 2.5 hours from Kathmandu.
The team joined local Sevadals in distributing essential relief supplies, including gas cylinders, blankets, mattresses, clothing and dry rations. The devastation was heartbreaking, with numerous homes buried under mud deposits reaching approximately 30–40 feet.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Nepal Sai Sevadals, particularly the youth, demonstrated extraordinary dedication, travelling several hours to reach affected communities and deliver much-needed assistance.
Day 3 – Gratitude and Strengthening Bonds
The final day included a meeting with Nepal Sai leadership and participation in their daily Narayana Seva initiative, which serves approximately 20–30 individuals. A simple contribution handover ceremony was subsequently held, with Bro Mahendran and Bro Magadave, the Service VP of SSSGAM, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the Nepal team's hospitality and dedication to seva. The delegation was deeply inspired by the organisation's remarkable growth over the past 25 years, from approximately 23–25 centres with only six having their own buildings, to around 230 centres today, of which approximately 140 have their own premises. The three-day visit was more than a humanitarian mission, it was an opportunity to witness Bhagawan's teachings translated into selfless action. The dedication of Nepal's youth, Mahilas and senior devotees demonstrated the power of unity, discipline and collective service.
The Malaysian delegation returned with immense gratitude, admiration and strengthened bonds of brotherhood with the Nepal Sai family.
