As part of the St. Anne Feast Day celebrations, Sri Sathya Sai Global Association of Malaysia (SSSGAM) Perai, Alma, and Bukit Mertajam jointly organised a two-day Blood Donation Drive at St. Anne’s Church in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, on the 26th and 27th July 2025.
The noble initiative was a resounding success as it projects a commitment and unity of twenty-five (25) Sai volunteers from 3 centres, and the dedicated support of thirteen (13) medical personnel from Kulim Hospital.
On Day 1 (26th July), the blood donation drive began at 9:00 AM and was scheduled to run until 5:00 PM. However, due to overwhelming public response, all 80 blood bags brought by the hospital were used up by 2:30 PM, prompting an early closure of the day's drive. The turnout far exceeded expectations. On the next day which was 27th July, the event resumed from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM as planned.
Across the two days, 189 donors registered, and 129 units of blood were successfully collected. This life-saving effort was made possible through the seamless coordination and heartfelt collaboration between Sri Sathya Sai Global Association of Malaysia (SSSGAM) Alma, Perai, and Bukit Mertajam whose volunteers worked together with great love and unity. Special thanks and appreciation go out to Bro. Guna, Sis Fharweena, Sis Thiages, and Bro. Viswa from SSSGAM Penang for their valuable support and presence.
The event stood as a true embodiment of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on selfless service and unity. Through collective effort, love, and dedication, the team made a meaningful difference in the lives of many, offering the gift of life to those in need.
