Malaysia Day & Centre Anniversary Celebration by SSSGC Bukit Mertajam
Malaysia Day is held on 16 September every year to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on that date in 1963. It is also the anniversary of Bukit Mertajam (BM) Centre of Sri Sathya Sai Global Association Malaysia on the very same day. As such, the members of SSSGAM BM celebrated the two occasions in a truly meaningful gesture.
The day began with Omkaar at 6.30 am followed by Bhajan, chanting of Gayatri Mantra for world peace and Mangala Arathi and thereafter breakfast distribution to the neighbours in the centre's vicinity.
The day then continued with Mass cooking by 30 devotees for 100 pax and distributed to HIV home, a children’s home and to the needy around Penang Sentral Bus station. 100 hungry stomachs were filled on this day by the members of SSSGAM BM.
