An Act of Love for the Elderly by SSSGC Taiwan

In keeping with the divine message of Love All, Serve All, members of the Sathya Sai Centre in Taipei have been lovingly serving the elderly community through a weekly wellness programme.

Every Wednesday afternoon, for one and a half hours, the Taipei Centre transforms into a place of vitality, laughter, and care as elderly participants gather for Muscle Strengthening and Fall Prevention exercises. These special sessions are designed not only to improve physical health, but also to boost confidence and promote independence among the elderly.

The activities focus on simple yet effective movements to enhance muscle strength, improve balance, and reduce the risk of falls, a common concern for older adults. Under the gentle guidance of trained volunteers, participants are encouraged to move at their own pace in a safe and supportive environment.

Beyond the physical benefits, the sessions also nurture emotional well-being. The warm interactions between the elderly and the volunteers foster a sense of belonging, joy, and connection, reminding everyone present that age is no barrier to a happy and active life.

This ongoing initiative reflects the essence of Swami’s teaching that selfless service is the highest form of worship. By dedicating their time and energy to uplift the elderly, the members of the Taipei Centre continue to demonstrate that love in action can truly transform lives, one smile, one step, and one heartbeat at a time.
